If the gradient tool window is docked to the fractal window, click in one of the gradient curves or in an input box in the gradient editor to give it the keyboard focus. For example, when you first click in the fractal to give it the focus, Ctrl+A will open the Save Parameters browser window. When you click in the gradient editor first, Ctrl+A will select all control points.
Hold down Ctrl (Windows) or Cmd (Mac) while clicking in the gradient editor to add a new control point or to delete the selected control point. When dragging control points, hold down Shift to constrain the movement to horizontal or vertical only.
