Mirari

This image evolved through several intriguing and very different incarnations — places I could have stopped and proclaimed it "finished." But because I tweak my works excessively to make sure I've got exactly what I want, I sometimes make a tiny change that invites me down a completely unexpected path. When I saw the potential for the kind of impressionistic effect that Mark Townsend
uses so effectively, I couldn't resist pursuing it. The imported image used in this work is barely discernable at this point.
