Ultra Fractal 6 has been written in Object Pascal using Delphi 10.1 Berlin. The Mac version uses the Free Pascal Compiler together with a custom translation layer to implement Delphi's VCL library using the native Cocoa API. Ultra Fractal uses the following third-party libraries:

• The zlib compression library, written by Jean-Ioup Gailly and Mark Adler
• The JPEG library, written by Jacques Nomssi Nzali
• Indy internet components
• FastMM memory manager
• SynEdit and VirtualTree components
• ExtendedX87 unit to support 80-bit "extended" floating-point precision in 64-bit mode
