Has anyone experienced something like this with UF6? Brightly colored static-like pixels. After rendering they disappear.

Looks to me like the preview rendering passes have not completed properly. Why this should be I don't know. Do you get this consistently with this image or was it a one-off that you happened to capture? If consistent then it could be a problem with the formula maybe.

If it were me I would try various things to force UF to re-draw the image (i.e. copy/paste to new window or save it then restart UF and load it again).
On the formula tab you could try a different drawing method (i.e. change to single-pass if using one of the others).
I would also look at loading this image when the computer was not under serious load, to eliminate hardware/resource issues - freshly booted, no other programs running etc.

You're right to raise the issue, though. If it's a problem with UF itself then it's important to identify the cause. Without further info or the parameters it's difficult to assess the problem, however. Are you able to post a problem layer for further examination? I'm sure there are folks here who know much more about these things than I do.

Also try to run off OpenGL acceleration on the Fractal tab in the Preferences dialog to see if that makes a difference.

Thanks for your input Chris. It has happened sporadically over the last couple of months, different formulas and situations. I usually just deal with it but it is an inconvenience. I'll try different things next time to see if I can fix it.

Thanks again.
