Feature request: Eyedropper button

I really miss the Eyedropper button in UF6. It's a function I use frequently and I'm finding it a bit fiddly to access it via the popup right-click menu on the Gradient Editor, which seems to be the only option right now.

I would therefore like to lodge a request for this to be re-instated in UF6, if possible. Perhaps as a little eyedropper button on the Controls section of the Gradient window? I think it would be a great addition to that window and there seems to be plenty of room for it above the colour swatch box.

A bit like this window I mocked up for you... maybe?...

Alternatively, a keystroke shortcut would be almost as helpful.

You're not alone in this, Chris. I just upgraded to UF6 over the weekend and the eyedropper feature is dearly missed. I use it often, especially when trying out different frame colors to match my artwork. I certainly hope it comes back!

Hi. The eyedropper is there. I found it in UF6, along with some other features formerly elsewhere, by right clicking on the gradient window.

I have a complaint though about some recent posts. The following have been posting outright spam and filling up the areas meant for real fractal discourse: vinodji88 and babaji02. Obviously spammers have found this forum. Anything you can do to prevent or eliminate this stuff will be greatly appreciated.

Yes, I know the eyedropper is on the popup right-click menu, thank you. My wish was for a button (like on UF5) or a keyboard shortcut to make selecting it much quicker and easier.

I'm exasperated about the dozens of spam posts too, it makes the forum unusable. It's just getting worse every day. Very off-putting.

I can do nothing about it, I'm afraid. I am just an ordinary user/member like you. I sent an email to Frederik about it a couple of days ago but I guess he is perhaps away at the moment?
