Is there a way to view threaded discussions?

Would it be possible to host an archive of the entire past Ultra Fractal mailing list in this forum?

I would also like to see an RSS feed option.

Each discussion automatically becomes a thread when people reply to it, as you can see here. I've briefly thought about adding the mailing list archive to the forum, but there are a few problems with this:

  • I think generally list members wouldn't have expected their emails to be posted to a publicly accessible and Google-indexable forum. Especially with UPRs this might be sensitive.
  • I don't maintain a full archive of the mailing list.
  • It would be a lot of work to import it in a sensible way.

So to me the best options seems to start "fresh" here. I'll think about an RSS feed option.

Cheers,
Frederik

I expect you are aware that Jan Vyvey has made the Parameters that have been posted on the mailing list, from 1998, available. Just in case you are not you can view them and download them at:

I understand your reluctance about posting the archive.
I have most of the list archived in a Thunderbird email client.

The list discussions by the formula writers and artists about the methods and techniques they developed is valuable information and out of reach to most newcomers.
I learned a lot from those discussions.

In that case I will have to change my collection method but that must be rather easy. From now on, I'll watch the mailing list AND the forum.

@Encrypted: I agree with you that very valuable information has been shared on the mailing list; however the archives have always been very difficult to access (and I even had to turn them off at some point) so newcomers have never had easy access to this information. I hope that this forum will become the new go-to resource for questions & information, and that after some time we'll have tons of valuable stuff up here. smile

@JVYV: My intention is for the forum to replace the mailing list so we gather all people and information in one place. Good to see you here!
