I don't know if this is possible with the new windowless style of UF6... is it possible, when you close a changed fractal, to have the Confirmation dialog ("Save changes to.." ) forced to the top of the UF windows stack??

The reason I ask is that several times now I've had a mish mash of windows stacked over one another, maybe 3 fractals and a UF browser and have perhaps inadvertently "closed" one via the Windows task bar (so it's not seen straight away) and then found it difficult to find that confirmation box so I can deal with it and get back to work. Until that confirmation is seen to none of UF's windows respond to being moved. On occasion I've had to minimize other programs in order to sort the mess out and find that dialog.

If, when switching back to any of UF6's windows that dialog presented itself it would certainly make life simpler!

The confirmation box should rise to the top, so if it doesn't do this, that's a bug. Is there a way you can reliably trigger this behavior?

Yes, I think I may be able to.

I will do some more testing and see if I can nail down the sequence of events more precisely. I will email you with my findings.....

Same here, that is indeed a problem. The inability to find the confirmation box leaves no other option than to force UF to close via the Windows task manager...

[Windows version of UF]
I've worked out that the problem arises when UF windows are clustered together under one icon on the taskbar and you close one of them from there. The confirmation dialog (correctly) presents itself above the last window that you opened in UF. Trouble is, if you sidestep UF by using the taskbar to select the wrong window you can get a bit lost looking for it.

Two possible solutions before forcing closure and maybe losing valuable work:

a) hover mouse over UF's taskbar icon and see if any of the displayed thumbnails are showing the presence of the dialog. If so choose that window to deal with it.
b) if you have any other applications open - switch to one and minimise it. UF + dialog will often pop into view then.

I have described all this in an email to Frederik. He's looking at it. smile

In the meantime, you can always use Alt+Tab to move between open windows and find the one that's stuck.
