Hi, new here smile Just picked up UF5 and playing around following videos and ran into a snag.

I create a second layer, and after playing around a little find the window is blank. I figured out how to "reset location" to center it..

but it also centers all layers. I tried only having the magnifier icon on for the layer I want to center, only highlighting it, and only having it showing... but no matter what I do the other layer centers also.

Can anyone help?

What you have described to correct the problem should work; if the magnifier icon is OFF on all other layer/s then just the one with it visible will be affected by any changes.

I'm afraid I can't think what the problem might be without seeing the parameters. At a pinch you could drag the second layer to a new fractal window, perform the reset then drag it back and use it to replace the original but it's not ideal.

It would be nice to get to the bottom of the problem, though. If you still have them could you post the params?

Reset Location works on highlighted layers and leaves the other layers unchanged. Not sure why this does not work for you. Yes, params would be good.......

Hi Orjanna,

Are you using the Reset Location command on the Fractal menu? This will reset all layers. What you're looking for is the separate Reset Location button in the Location tab of the Layer Properties tool window: this will reset the location for the selected layer only. It looks like two arrows pointing to each other.

Hope this helps!

Wow. I did not know that, Frederik! I've never used Reset from the menu and that might actually come in handy one day so it's a good one to know! Thanks.

I reckon that is very likely the answer to the original question.
