I try to use http://formulas.ultrafractal.com/login.htm , to change my ea.ufm
I get this message (in Firefox):

“Your connection is not secure”

The owner of formulas.ultrafractal.com has configured their website improperly. To protect your information from being stolen, Firefox has not connected to this website.”

Also in Google Chrome I see “not safe”.

Has anybody the same experience?

I received the same message in Firefox. I was able to work through it by adding Ultrafractal's domain as a security exception, then I could access the database. Maybe not the best solution, but until there is a better fix, it works.

Downloading formulas is not working either at the moment. Maybe a manual download would work but it's a nuisance. smile

Thanks everyone for the reports. I've fixed this now. My apologies for the trouble!

If you're using Google Chrome and you're still getting this error, you need to clear the cache. You'll find this setting in settings > Advanced > Privacy > Clear browsing data. Clearing it for the last hour should be enough if you've just seen the error.

Let me know if there's still a problem and I'll look into it.

No problem, Ed, and thanks for your own excellent formulas.

Thanks Frederik.

Hi, Frederik. I am still having [minor] issues when uploading formulas to the formula database. I log in, which appears to work properly, then immediately go to upload a formula update. I get this error message every time:

"Your request could not be completed because it appeared to be invalid (or not permitted) by the formula database. The most common reasons for this to occur are:

Your session has expired, due to inactivity. Simply log in again and continue.
You are trying to do something you do not have permission to do.
There is a bug in the database software. (Well perhaps this isn’t a common reason, but it is possible. Hypothetically speaking.)

If you believe your request should have been honored, please use the contact link at the bottom of this page for assistance. "

Then I follow the suggestion to log in again, and my upload goes smoothly. I know that I am not delaying, so my session should not have timed out.

Thanks,

Joe

I just tried uploading a formula myself and got a timeout error once (a different one than you reported), but the formula was uploaded successfully. The next two times, the upload just succeeded quickly.

It seems that the first time, updating one of the ZIP files for the formula database took too long for some reason. Unfortunately due to the way the formula database software is written, it's difficult to handle this in a better way. I can see if I can have the timeout extended.
