Hi all,

I've been away from the forum for a while, so apologies if this has been covered already.

In UF6, when I'm rendering a job and back it up, the backup file (.urj) is HUGE compared with the same for UF5. For example, for the fractal below rendered at 4000 x 3000, when backed up at 25% complete, the UF5 .urj file is 603KB, while the UF6 .urj file is 187,612 KB.

Is this desired b

Hello,

I recently purchased the UF 6 upgrade and I really like the new features. However, I am having two problems with the new version:

UF 6 causes the computer to hang for short moments while rendering a fractal (not rendering to disk). It completely freezes for a couple of seconds and I can't move the mouse or do anything, then it continues normally. I never had this problem with UF 5

I am using UF6 on a iMac with OS Yosemite.

When I open some parameters in UF6 they open with with all the layers displaced and I cant move them back into place.
some old parameterd open ok. but the gradient has changed into a kind of blue.

Would it be possible, at some future date perhaps, to add an extra line to the render log file detailing the exact time taken to complete a render? It would save having to work it out oneself... I'm really slow with that sort of thing.

Today I had occasion to do a render of a deep zoom. For various reasons I had to pause the job a few times. When I looked at the log I had to add four sets of

I don't know if this is possible with the new windowless style of UF6... is it possible, when you close a changed fractal, to have the Confirmation dialog ("Save changes to.." ) forced to the top of the UF windows stack??

The reason I ask is that several times now I've had a mish mash of windows stacked over one another, maybe 3 fractals and a UF browser and have perhaps inadvertently "closed

I've updated to v.6 It seems to run really slow. For example, I have to layers I make a simple change, like select a new formula. the status bar at the bottom will run for up to a minute while it calculates. I don't remember this happening on v. 5.

Using a MAC with High Sierra
thanks

Apologies if this request comes too late for version 6!

I use two screens when using UF and like the feature that enables the Layer Properties and Fractal Properties etc. to be moved to the second screen, and that they can also be docked.

Would it be possible to have these two features enabled for Gradient window, particularly, and also the Fractal Window and Browsing window, too?

In some of my deep zooms, I'd like an easy way to set the rotation. In Lightroom and some other image manipulation programs, there's a way to draw a line and have the program select the rotation to make the line horizontal.

Something for the distant future, perhaps.

Hi Frederik, any progress on UF 6 ? And features such as array parameters or colour palette parameters ? Or how about a general data load/save were the data form (to a general memory buffer) is purely defined by the formula author - enabling direct input/output of 2D or 3D data for use in other software (or even allowing UF to be used to process other data forms such as sound data).

Following tutorial, on the section about 3d mapping, and Solid Color on page 49 the color dialog does not expand enough to show the complete opacity slider. I've tried to expand the window and it does not react as a normal Mac OS window. It will expand left and right, but not up and down.
See screen shot. Thanks.

When trying to change the font under the Browser tab in preferences the application crashes. this is on a Mac, with latest OS version, as soon as I place a font size, or select it (using 12) it just crashes. I've included a screenshot of the area I was in. I can replicate this multiple times.

Part of the OS error log is shown below:

Frederik, I wonder if you can comment on the following situation which has happened to me just recently...

Firstly, I'm in the habit of always saving my image parameters "with formulas" to cover situations where algorithms get deleted or altered and to avoid my designs being "broken" by these actions.

Last year I made a fractal image that used a colouring algorithm from om.ucl. Since th

Sorry - I have one other request!

I would like to be able to switch on and off Mapping formulae on all multi-selected layers (using the little coloured icon to the left of the formula name on the Mapping tab of the Layer Properties window).

At the moment it only switches on and off on one layer even when multiple layers are selected.

Is this possible, do you think? Thanks!
