I've taken a copy of the obituary in today's New York Times, but am unsure of the niceties of reproducing it here.

Harold became interested in artificial intelligence and AARON was his brainchild. It automatically generates images without human assistance and his version would continue to do so without pause - an amazing achievement. He made a version freely available for use by others a few years ago though I cannot find that it is still available. My copy more or less was successfully migrated to Windows 8 and is still usable with difficulty. I did copy a few images into UF for use as a picture "starter," and one can be seen in DA:
